To mark the occasion of the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Bishop of Tarbes and Lourdes HE Mons. Jacques Perrier officially appointed Alessandro de Franciscis “permanent medic” of the Bureau Médical, the institution responsible for the medical documentation that officially states the healings in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes . The archives of the “Bureau” have registered up to this moment 700 cases of people who have declared recovery after visiting the Sanctuary but among these 700 cases only 66 have passed the ecclesiastical selection and have been officially stated as miracles. The appointment was officially announced in Lourdes and the prestigious acknowledgment honors the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George.

HE Ambassador Giuseppe, Secretary General of the Order, sent a congratulatory message to dr Alessandro de Franciscis on behalf of all the Constantinian Knights and Dames and on behalf of Professor Leonardo Saviano Secretary General of the Royal House of Bourbon. Dr Alessandro d Franciscis, Constantinian Knight of Justice is a pediatrician and has obtained a master in epidemiology at Harvard University, since 2005 he is the President of the Province of Caserta. He has been the first non French doctor who is in charge of the “Bureau Médical” founded in 1882 by Baron Dunot de Saint Maclou and has succeeded Dr Patrick Theillier who was appointed in 1998.
